Online GB (Great Britain) Area of Cocaine Anonymous

The CAUK Online District was established in 2020, beginning with just six aligned groups operating entirely in an online format. Despite its modest start, the district quickly demonstrated the potential of virtual organisation, providing a platform for engagement, collaboration, and growth beyond geographical boundaries.

In 2021, the District experienced an increase in the number of groups, up to nine. Momentum continued in 2022, with thirteen groups now part of the district. By 2023, it had expanded further to
twenty-one groups and the pace of growth accelerated in 2024, with the district reaching thirty-six groups. By the end of 2025, the number of groups peaked at fifty four, showing the success and demand for online meetings, rising interest in online participation and the appeal of a flexible, digitally connected structure. To better manage this rapid expansion, a second district (known as the Digital District) was formed. Following this restructuring, the original CAUK Online District adjusted to forty-six groups, allowing for more focused online service and improved support for members.

In 2026, reflecting its maturity and reach, the CAUK Online District voted to pursue recognition from C.A. World Services as its own Area. The district initiated the process and initially named themselves
the “International Online Area”. However, following the advice from the European Regional Trustees to focus on where our Charity and financing is based while also leaving room within the fellowship structure for future growth and the possibility of other online Areas forming, we decided, upon reflection, to call ourselves C.A. Online GB.
